Austria Holidays 2024/2025

Essential

Expect that shops, except grocery stores in transit areas and tourist locations, will be closed on holidays.

It is recommended that you confirm the opening hours of museums, restaurants, and cafes. In addition, Austrian States may have additional State-specific holidays.

Note: Austrians celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve.  So expect sights, stores, cafes and some restaurants to close by the late afternoon (~16:00/4pm).

It is recommended to make reservations at restaurants on holidays.
