On top of the fact that the village is visited by millions of tourists per year- it makes finding parking difficult

FAQs about Parking in Hallstatt

Can I drive into the centre of Hallstatt?

No you cannot drive into the centre of Hallstatt.

Two barriers close the road to the centre of Hallstatt. Only residents are allowed to drive in the village.

How do I park if I am staying in accommodation in Hallstatt?

Guests staying in accommodation in Hallstatt should park in the P1 car park.  You can park your car in the P1 car park for your stay.

A shuttle service will take you and your luggage from “P1″ to your accommodation and back again on departure.

Proceed to the “Hotel-Shuttle Info-Point” which is located near the car park entrance.

The shuttle service, combined with a valid hotel ticket, is free of charge from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Outside of these times, you must call a taxi.

If the shuttle vehicle is not currently at P1, it can be called on +43 664 1530625.

The shuttle service takes you and your luggage to the desired accommodation every half hour from 9 am to 7pm.

Will there be parking available in Hallstatt?

There are a minimal number of car parking spots in Hallstatt.  The parking lots fill up in the early morning by 10 am. During Summer High Season, sometimes by 9 am there are no car parks left.

The following prices are for Car parks: P1/P2/P3/P4

  • the first 15 minutes are free
  • 1 hour: 4,50€
  • 2 hours: 8,00€
  • 3 hours to 4 hours: 9,50€
  • 5 hours to 6 hours: 10,00€
  • 7 hours to 12 hours: 12,00€
  • 13 hours to 24 hours: Dayticket 18,00€
  • Lost ticket: 36€

Bus fee: € 40.00 per day

P1 Parking 

The P1 Parking Lot is located immediately after the petrol station on the main road around the lake.

The P1 Parking lot is for guests who are staying in accommodation in Hallstatt.

There are two charging stations for electric cars at P1.

P2 Parking

The P2 Parking lot is for day visitors.

Available Parking spots:  140

Address: Kohlstattweg, 4830 Hallstatt,

P3 Parking

The P3 Parking lot is located outside of the village. It is for buses, RVs, campervans and cars.

P4 Parking

The P4 Parking lot is located outside of the village, next to the P3 Parking Lot

BSFZ Parkplatz -Obertraun

The BSFZ Parking lot is located in Obertraun

Address: Winkl 86, 4831 Obertraun

P+R Steeg-Gosau

Free parking for rail customer at the railway station Steeg-Gosau.
